A.INDIVIDUAL ITEMS

 
  1. Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
 
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Design Development Drawings/Budget and Construction Documents for the J.D. Lever Elementary School Gym/Multipurpose Additions (Dr. Murphy)
 
The administration in conjunction with the MOTA Design firm has completed the Design Development and Construction Documents for the J.D. Lever Elementary School Gym/Multipurpose Addition.
 
  1. Review of the newly-detailed Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan and Cyclical Maintenance Plan (Dr. Murphy)
 
In accordance with Policy FB, Facilities Planning, each year the Board of Education will review the Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan. At the Review in May of 2022, it was requested that the specificuses of the monies be indicated for as many years out as possible.
 
 

B.CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school.Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
  1. Out- of-District Transfer Requests – Transfers Out (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
 
  1. Request to Admit Foreign Exchange Student (Dr. Minolfo)
 
School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of the exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County.
 
 
 
  1. Fidelity Charitable Donor-Advised Fund Grant Award to North Augusta High School Choir – FY23 (Dr. Edwards)
 
North Augusta High School Choir Program has been awarded a $3,000,00 Fidelity Charitable Donor-Advised Fund Grant.These funds will be used to provide purchased services for student learning experiences, teaching quality enhancement opportunities, equipment/instrument repair & maintenance, instructional materials and supplies, and student field experiences.
 
  1. GMP #1 Site Package for the Wagener-Salley High School Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
HG Reynolds Company, Inc. received bids, for the CM at Risk for Wagener-Salley High School Project.
 
 
  1. 2023 and 2024 Graduation Ceremonies at USC-A Convocation Center (Dr. Murphy)
 
Since 2009 graduation ceremonies have been held at the USCA Convocation Center.All high schools have been supportive of this location and the Convocation Center has been very accommodation for the graduation exercises.

In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD, and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the board’s review.
 
  1. Construction Status Report for the Hammond Hill Elementary School Additions and Renovations Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, Cheatham Fletcher Scott (CFS), and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
  1. Construction Status Report for the Highland Springs Middle School Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
