A.INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: The following items are for information only and do not require Board action.
- Aiken Scholars Academy Year One Review (Mrs. Glover)
- Construction Status Reports for the Aiken High School Phase 3 James Taylor Gymnasium Renovation Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
- Construction Status Reports for the Graniteville Elementary Renovations & Additions Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board Current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
- Construction Status Reports for the Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle/High Phase 2 Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
- Construction Status Reports for the Silver Bluff High Football Stadium Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Boards review (Dr.Foster)
- Report of Sole Source & Emergency Purchase for the Fiscal Year ended, June 30, 2019 (Mr. Traxler)
The District Procurement Code section IX-C-1 requires annual reporting of the purchases made under the sole source and emergency provisions of the Code.
- Report of Minority Purchase for the Fiscal Year ended, June 30, 2019 (Mr. Traxler)
The District Procurement Code XVI-B-4 requires an annual reporting of purchases made from minority vendors.
B.CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group. Individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
- National Football League Foundation Donation to Ridge Spring-Monetta High School – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)
Ridge Spring-Monetta High School was given a $5,000.00 donation from the National Football League Foundation.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase new equipment and field items for the football team.
- Request to Admit Foreign Exchange Student (Mr. Laurence)
School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of the exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County.
- GMP #2 for the Building Construction, and Construction Documents drawings/budget for the Midland Valley High Addition Project from McMillian Pazdan Smith Architecture (Dr. Foster)
HG Reynolds Company, Inc. received bids for CM @ Risk for Midland Valley High Addition Project. The original construction budget approved by the board on March 12, 2019 design development budget was $17.5 Million for site and building with $650,000.00 for design contingency. The site and fire alarm package GMP #1 is $3,309,092.00 and GMP #2 is $14,500,900.00. The total construction budget needed for site and building is $17,809,992.00. Total budget with owner contingency is $24,109,992.00 which is $386,738.00 below design development approved on March 12, 2019 Board Agenda Item.
C.INDIVIDUAL ITEMS
- Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or Supervisor for each location.
- Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mr. Laurence)
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with the other school districts for the interchange of students.The policy stipulates that when students transfer out the District, “the school District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
- Design Development and Final Architectural Contract Documents for the North Augusta High Phase 3 Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
The architects, McMillian, Pazdan, Smith Architecture for this project have completed the final working drawings for construction of the North Augusta High Phase 3 Addition Project are prepared to present these final plans and construction budget under separate cover to the Board for approval.
