  1. Construction Status Reports for the Belvedere Elementary School Addition & Renovations Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board Current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
  1. Construction Status Reports for the Hammond Hill Elementary Additions & Renovations Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board Current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, Cheatham Fletcher Scott (CFS), and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
  1. Final Construction Status Reports for the Midland Valley High Addition Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board Current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.

In an effort to keep the Board Current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
  1. Final Construction Status Reports for the North Augusta High School Phase III Addition Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board Current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.

B.CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School Board according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school.Although the Board may receive recommendation for expulsions from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
  1. Friendship Baptist Church of Aiken Donation to the Aiken County Public School District - FY21 (Mrs. Glover)
 
The Aiken County Public School District has been given a $6,000.00 donation from the Friendship Baptist Church of Aiken.The funds from this donation will be used to provide hot spots and/or other technology support for students attending the following schools:Aiken High, Schofield Middle, Aiken Intermediate, North Aiken Elementary, J.D. Lever Elementary, and East Aiken School of the Arts.
 
  1. Volunteer Board of University Health Care System Donation to Aiken County Career & Technology Center – FY21
 
The Volunteer Board of University Health Care System has donated items valued at $2,577.08 to the Aiken County Career & Technology Center Cosmetology Program.Donated items include salon quality retail materials, supplies and chemicals valued at $2,077.08 as well as salon furniture, fixtures and equipment valued at $500.00.
 
  1. Submission of Grant Application by the Division of Human Resources and Administration for the South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust Risk Control Grant- FY21
 
The Division of Human Resources and Administration would like to submit a grant application for a $51,261.14 South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust Risk Control Grant.The non-competitive grants program provides funding for the one-time purchase of a product or service that supports a member district’s risk management objectives.The money from this grant will be used for SafeSchools online training for all district staff, slip-resistant shoes for all custodial staff, large tilt/trash carts, reflective vests and flashlights for transportation services, and lunch delivery carts with closed sides to prevent spills.Dues to a December 31 deadline and based on a past history of applying for and receiving the grant, the application was submitted prior to Board approval.
 
 
  1. Membership of the Aiken County Public School District Head Start/Early Head Start Policy Council  (Mrs. Glover)
 
Section 642 of the Head Start Act requires grant agencies to establish and maintain a formal structure for program governance, including a policy council to advise on program operation and design and assist in the development of long and short-term planning goals and objectives.The policy council bylaws require the governing body to approve the membership of the policy council.The school board approved policy council candidates proposed on December 8, 2020.As additional candidates are nominated by Head Start/Early Head Start locations and communities, those will be presented to the school board for approval.
 
  1. Change Order #2 for the Ridge Spring Monetta High Phase 2 Additions – GMP #1 (Dr. Murphy)
 
Shared Savings Credit for this Phase 2 Additions project is ……. <$785,493.48>

Change Order #2 for the Midland Valley High School Addition Project for Aiken County Public Schools is submitted for your review and approval:

  • Band Field Tower…………………………………………..$44,021.00
  • Install Lights, Seal Coat, Stripe, Repair Student Lot….$153,322.00
 
These items were not included in the original plans and specifications and therefore are cost additive items.
