B. CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group; individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

  1. Non-Resident Transfer Requests (Mrs. Meek)

Board Policy JFAB allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that nonresident students transfer into the District “the parent/legal guardian must assume responsibility for transportation. The Board will hold nonresident students to the behavioral and academic requirements set out in Policy JFAA, admission of resident students. The district may charge tuition to nonresident students seeking to enroll in district schools.”

  1. Release from ACPSD Requests (Mrs. Meek)

Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”

  1.  Replacement of Midland Valley High School Football Press Box (Dr. Yarborough)

The demolition of the existing press box and installation of a new press box at Midland Valley High School football stadium. Total cost for replacement is $838,891.00 including a $10,000.00 contingency allowance.

  1.  GMP #1 – Early Sitework for the Midland Valley High School Project (Dr. Yarborough)

H.G. Reynolds Construction received bids for early sitework for the Midland Valley High School project.  The sitework budget is $3,916,618, which sets the site GMP #1 at the same amount. This cost does not increase the overall project budget of $65,000,000.

Early sitework will allow the project to begin while the building permits are being processed.  This overlaps activities that would otherwise happen sequentially and can allow construction and paving of the existing gravel student parking lot. This will also help to prevent interference with foundation work, site grading, underground drainage, and utility trenching.

  1. Annual Contract for Repair and Maintenance of Indoor and Outdoor Scoreboards, Time Clocks, Programmable Message Boards, and Video Boards (Dr. Yarborough)

On October 23, 2026, the selection committee reviewed and ranked the qualifications of contractors interested in performing district-wide repairs and maintenance for the indoor and outdoor scoreboards, time clocks, programmable message boards, and video boards. These contractors will perform related services on an as needed basis. The committee was composed of the following:

                    * Michael Jara – Executive Director of Facilities Construction

                    * Tracy Price – Assistant Director of Facilities Construction

                    * Jeremiah Jones – Coordinator of Facilities Construction
