The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or Supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Update Organization Chart in Policy CCA Organization Chart, Second Readiing (Mrs. Hart)
 
Policy CCA presents the organization chart for the district administration beginning with the office of the Superintendent, Policy CC Administrative Organization state that “The chart [Organization Chart] represents the framework for administration and the lines of authority and responsibility. Within the framework established, each school will be encouraged and free to work out the educational program most appropriate for itself.
 
  1. Revised policies and administrative rules, Second Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
The attached policies and administrative rules have been reviewed and revisions have been recommended. Minor revisions have been made to reflect current district practices and/or title changes.
 
  1. Policy JICDA Code of Conduct, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
The board annually reviews and adopts a code of conduct for all students of the school district including students in summer school and adult education programs as well as students who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan. The code establishes guidelines for students, parents, teachers, and administrators in  maintaining an orderly and appropriate school environment.
 
  1. Policy KBE Relations with Parent Organizations, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Governor Henry McMaster signed into law on March 11, 2024, to the SC Code of Laws 59-17-170. This law is intended to “prohibit persons with certain criminal convictions from serving as public school booster club financial officers, to provide such booster clubs annually shall register with the school district board or charter school authorizer of its school, and to provide related powers and duties of school district boards and charter school authorizers.”
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  1. Policy LC Relations With Education Research Agencies, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
The District works collaboratively with colleges and universities, district employees, and other external agencies in supporting educational research. In the past, school administrators facilitated the relationship with these entities. The Office of Accountability and Assessment is now tasked with the responsibility of facilitation the collaboration of education research agencies who wish to conduct research in the District
 
  1. Proposed Sign-On Bonus for HVAC Technicians (Dr. Yarborough)
 
Our District continues to experience difficulty hiring HVAC technicians. Two positions are vacant and have been so for eight months. The Administration is seeking an incentive to assist with hiring these critical positions.
 
 
  1. CONSENT ITEMS:   The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
 
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfers Requests – Transfers Out 2024-2025 (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
  1. Request for Approval for Home Instruction (Dr. Yarborough)
 
The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina, Section 59-65-40, is a
 
  1. SRP Federal Credit Union Donation to Aiken County Career and Technology Center (Dr. Edwards)
 
The Aiken County Career and Technology Center School has received a $2,000.00 donation from SRP Federal Credit Union. The funds will be used to provide general and instructional materials and supplies to support the Career Center’s CTE Techno Camp and their Summer Academy program, including student supplies and snacks.
 
  1. Design Development Drawings/Budget for the new Aiken County Career & Technology Project (Dr. Yarborough)
 
The administration in conjunction with the Architect has completed the Design Development Plans and Budget for the new Aiken County career & Technology Project and will present to Aiken County Board of Education for final approval.

  1. Construction Status Report for the North Augusta High Athletic Fields Phase 4 Project (Dr. Yarborough)
 
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
