- Construction Status Reports for the Midland Valley High Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status reports for the Board’s review.
- Construction Status Reports for the Millbrook Elementary Additions & Renovations Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s Review.
- Construction Status Reports for the North Augusta High School Phase III Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.

B.CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
- Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school.Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
- Change Order Number 1 & 2 for the Aiken High School Phase 3 James Taylor Renovation (Dr. Foster)

- Rubber Track-Resurfacing Project 2 Midland Valley High & North Augusta High (Dr. Foster)
Bids were received for the Rubber Track-Resurfacing Project @ Midland Valley High & North Augusta High School on February 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. and publicly opened.The Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan, which was approved by the Board, has an adequate balance for the 2020-2021 Athletic Facility Needs.There were 4 bidders with ATC Site Construction submitting the lowest responsible and responsive bid in the amount of ($191,423.00) for Base Bid A; ($189,423.50) for Base Bid B for a subtotal of $380,846.50.
- Submission of the Distinguished Arts Program (DAP) 2020-21 Arts Curricular Innovation Grant (ACIG) Application by East Aiken School of the Arts – FY21 (Mrs. Glover)
East Aiken School of the Arts would like to submit an application to the SC State Department of Education for the Arts Curricular Innovation – Distinguished Arts Program (DAP) Arts Curricular Innovation grant in the amount of $18,000.00.This grant will assist in developing and implementing arts initiatives that support quality arts education programs and significantly improve student achievement in the arts.Distinguished Arts Program (DAP) grants provide funds for one-year projects.
- Submission of the 2020-21 Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant Application by Leavelle McCampbell Middle School – FY21 (Mrs. Glover)
Leavelle McCampbell Middle School would like to submit an application to the SC State Department of Education for the 2020-21 Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant in the amount of $260,000.00 which is renewable for up to four years.This grant will assist in providing opportunities for academic enrichment, youth development and meaningful family engagement for both current and incoming students.If awarded, the grant funds will be used to support programs that will address the following:
- Students who are below level in reading and/or mathematics
- Student achievement on standardized assessments
- Students with disabilities
- Students who are transitioning from elementary school to middle school
- Attendance
- Failure rate
- Discipline
- Character education/leadership development
- Summer transition program for at-risk students
- Partnerships with community entities to provide mentorships
If awarded, grant funds will be used to fund salaries for teachers and staff for the afterschool program, Saturday school, and/or summer programs, field trips, transportation, parent nights, and instructional program equipment and materials.The various programs supported by the grant will benefit all students with a focus on students who are at risk of failure or retention and students with disabilities.
- Nonresident Tuition Fees (Mr. Laurence)
Policy JFAB establishes the basic structure for admitting students who do not reside in the school district.At its December 17, 2019 meeting the school board approved changes to policy JFAB allowing for flexibility in the amount of tuition charged for nonresident students.

The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department, and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
- Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mr. Laurence)
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
- Changes to Policy GDB Support Staff Employment and Compensation, Final Reading (Mrs. Hart)
Policy GDB establishes the basic structure for support staff employment and compensation.
- Changes to Policy GCQC/GCQD Resignation of Instructional Staff/Administrative Staff, Final Reading (Mrs. Hart)
Policy GCQC/GCQD establishes the basic structure for the resignation of professional staff members.
