A. INDIVIDUAL ITEMS: The following items will be voted on individually.

1. Personnel Appointments (Ms. Riley)
The administrative, certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department, and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.

2. Re-employment of Supplemental Personnel for School Year 2026-2027 (Ms. Riley)
This recommendation is made in recognition of contributions and responsibilities undertaken beyond standard contracted days and outside the scope of typical school-based roles.

3. Revisions to the Code Of Student Conduct, Second Reading (Dr. Yarborough)
The Code of Student Conduct is reviewed and updated annually. As part of this process, a Discipline Steering Committee consisting of community members, parents, educational leaders, teachers, board members, and administrators from all three grade levels reviews the Code of Student Conduct. It considers recommended additions, deletions, and revisions from school administrators.

4. Revision of the following policy: Policy BG/BGC.BGD Policy Revision and Review/Board Review of Administrative Rules, Second Reading (Mrs. Meek)
The Board conducts a systematic review of its policies on a cyclical basis to ensure continued alignment with current laws, regulations, and best practices. As part of this ongoing process, the policies referenced above have been identified as due for review/revision and are being presented for consideration and update as needed.

5. Revision of the following policy: Policy AAA: Legal Status of Area Advisory Councils, First Reading (Mrs. Meek)
Revising and updating language under local funds and transfer appeals to streamline and clarify advisory council roles and responsibilities.

6. Revision of the following policy: Policy GCJ: Professional Staff Probation, First Reading (Mrs. Meek)
This policy’s components are covered in other staff policies and has no legal basis.
B. CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group; individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

1. Ratification of Expulsions (Dr. Murphy)
The School Board, according to Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school. Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it is solely empowered to take the final expulsion action.

2. Proposed Schedule of School Board Meetings for 2026-2027 (Dr. Murphy)
The School Board has historically scheduled its regular sessions on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of the month. Executive sessions have been held, as needed, on these same dates.

3. Release from ACPSD Requests 26-27 SY (Mrs. Meek)
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”

4. Non-Resident Transfer Requests 26-27 SY (Mrs. Meek)
Board Policy JFAB allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that nonresident students transfer into the District “the parent/legal guardian must assume responsibility for transportation. The Board will hold nonresident students to the behavioral and academic requirements set out in Policy JFAA, admission of resident students. The district may charge tuition to nonresident students seeking to enroll in district schools.”

5. Request to Admit Foreign Exchange Students (Mrs. Meek)
School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County.

6. Public Education Partners (PEP) of Aiken County STEM Kit Initiative Grant Award to the Aiken County Public School District – FY26 (Dr. Edwards)
The Aiken County Public School District has received a grant award of $19,430.91 from the Public Education Partners (PEP) of Aiken County to support the 4th Grade PEP STEM Kit Initiative. The initiative provides classroom-ready STEM kits aligned to the 4th grade science standards, along with in-depth professional development at key points throughout the school year. Funds will be used to purchase STEM kit equipment, materials and supplies to be used in the classroom. The program will be initiated at the following twelve elementary schools:
Busbee, Byrd, Clearwater, Graniteville, Greendale, Jefferson, J.D. Lever, North Aiken, North Augusta, Oakwood-Windsor, Redcliffe, and Ridge Spring-Monetta.
7. United States Marine Corps – Wunderman Thompson, LLC. Grant Donation to North Augusta High School – FY26 (Dr. Edwards)
North Augusta High School has been awarded a $4,999.00 grant donation from the United States Marine Corps through Wunderman Thompson, LLC. to maintain a quality wrestling program at North Augusta High School. The funds will be used to purchase items such as, but not limited to, uniforms, equipment, materials for wrestling mat maintenance, and supplies necessary for the wrestling team.

8. Public Education Partners (PEP) of Aiken County Grant Awards to the Aiken County Public School District – FY26 (Dr. Edwards)
The Aiken County Public School District has received $7,780.00 in grant awards from the Public Education Partners (PEP) of Aiken County. The funds will be used to fund eleven ACPSD teacher grant awards. These grant awards total $7,780.00 with $2,850.00 of them related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). The funds are to be used by the awardee teachers to carry out the projects as requested in their grant applications.

9. Request for Proposals for Banking Services (Mr. Traxler)
The District sought proposals for banking services for its main operating account. The deadline for submission was April 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Services will be coordinated through the District’s Division of Finance.

10. Change Order Number 1 – Midland Valley Football Scoreboard (Dr. Yarborough)
Change Order Number 1 reflects a credit for the Midland Valley High School football scoreboard project. The original quote included a new foundation and frame for the new scoreboard, which is not needed. The new scoreboard will be installed on the existing structure.

11. Conceptual Drawings for a New Cafeteria at LBC Middle School (Dr. Yarborough)
The existing cafeteria is small and does not meet functionality requirements. Three lunch periods are required to serve the entire student population. The campus has the space needed for a new cafeteria while allowing existing cafeteria to continue to be used during construction.

In an effort to keep the board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the architects for this project, Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), and the administration prepare a bi-monthly status report for the board’s review.

4. Construction status report for the Belvedere Elementary School addition and renovation project (Dr. Yarborough)
In an effort to keep the board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the architects for this project, Cheatham Fletcher Scott (CFS), and the administration prepare a bi-monthly status report for the board’s review.

5. Construction status report for the J.D. Lever Multipurpose Room Building (Dr. Yarborough)
In an effort to keep the board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the architects for this project, Method Works (MW), and the administration prepare a bi-monthly status report for the board’s review.
