The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or Supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Update Organization Chart in Policy CCA Organization Chart, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Policy CCA presents the organization chart for the district administration beginning with the office of the Superintendent, Policy CC Administrative Organization state that “The chart [Organization Chart] represents the framework for administration and the lines of authority and responsibility.  Within the framework established, each school will be encouraged and free to work out the educational program most appropriate for itself.
 
  1. Revised policies and administrative rules, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
The attached policies and administrative rules have been reviewed and revisions have been recommended.  Minor revisions have been made to reflect current district practices and/or title changes.
 
  1. Revise Policy DEC Selection of Title I Schools, Second Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Policy DEC Selection of Title I Schools provides guidance on the selection of schools that receive Title I funds each year. Title I funds are used to provide equal opportunities for all students within the district to reach challenging academic standards.
 
  1. Annual Update on Minority Business Enterprises Utilization Plan (Mr. Traxler)
 
The School Board approved the original Minority Enterprise (MBE) Utilization Plan, in accordance with the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code, at its July 18, 2023, meeting.  That plan requires a semi-annual reporting in January and July.  The plan must be updated annually for any changes no later than July 30.
 
 
  1. CONSENT ITEMS:   The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
 
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfers Requests – Transfers Out 2024-2025 (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
 
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfer Requests – Transfers In 2024-2025 (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Board Policy JFAB allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that nonresident students transfer into the District “the parent/legal guardian must assume responsibility for transportation. The Board will hold nonresident students to the behavioral and academic requirements set out in policy JFAA, admission of resident students. The district may charge tuition to nonresident students seeking to enroll in district schools.”
 
  1. Aiken County Veterans Council Donation to Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School – FY25 (Dr. Edwards)
 
Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School received a $1,100.00 donation from the Aiken County Veterans Council. The funds are designated for the student care fund and will be used to provide items based on student needs.
 
  1. Civil Engineering Services for Paving/Resurfacing Erosion Control Projects District-Wide for Aiken County Public Schools (Dr. Yarborough)
 
On June 20, 2024, a Selection Committee ranked engineering firms interested in performing district-wide Civil Engineering work, per the Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan or as needed.
 
  1. Mechanical Electrical Plumbing Engineering Services for HVAC Projects Engineering Services District-Wide for Aiken County Public Schools (Dr. Yarborough)
 
On June 20, 2024, a Selection Committee ranked engineering firms interested in performing district-wide Civil Engineering work, per the Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan or as needed.
 
  1. Selection of Architects for Construction Projects over the Next Five Years (Dr. Yarborough)

The Business Services Department submits monthly Financials for Board review, consideration, and acceptance.

The District Procurement Code requires annual reporting of the purchases made under the sole source and emergency provisions of the Code.
