    1. 1. Personnel Appointments (Ms. Riley) 

     

    The administrative, certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department, and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location 

     

    1. 2. Budget Amendment 2025 – 2026 for Funds #1, 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9 (Mr. Traxler) 

     

    Periodic budget amendments are submitted for Board consideration. 

     

    B. CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group; individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken. 

     

    1. 1. Ratifications of Expulsions (Dr. Murphy) 

     

    The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school. Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it is solely empowered to take the final expulsion action. 

     

    1. 2. Request to Admit Foreign Exchange Students 26-27 SY (Mrs. Meek) 

     

    School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County. 

     

    1. 3. Sertoma Club of North Augusta Donation to Aiken County Public School District – Division of Operations and Student Services – FY26 (Dr. Yarborough) 

     

    The Sertoma Club of North Augusta has donated $10,220.00 to Aiken County Public School District Division of Operations and Student Services for the purchase of student handheld microphones. These microphones will expand the audio enhancement technology in classrooms, allowing students to engage and participate in the classroom discussions and ensuring all students can hear what is being said. 

     

    1. 4. Cedar Creek Ladies Club Donation to Greendale Elementary School – FY26 (Dr. Edwards) 

     

    Greendale Elementary School has received a $1,300.00 donation from the Cedar Creek Ladies Club. These funds support the Santa Books program that provides a book to every student at Christmas at Greendale Elementary. These funds will be used to purchase books for this program for the 2026-2027 school year. 

     

    1. 5. American Red Cross donation to the Midland Valley High School NJROTC Program – FY26 (Dr. Edwards) 

     

    The Midland Valley High School NJROTC Program has received a $2,050.00 donation from the American Red Cross. A portion of the funds ($1,500.00) will be donated to the school’s scholarship fund to be awarded to a student, chosen by the school’s administration, for use toward the cost of higher education. The remaining funds ($550.00) will be used to support the school’s NJROTC program activities. 

     

      6. The ArtsNow Leadership School Award donation to East Aiken School of the Arts – FY26 (Dr. Edwards) 

     

    East Aiken School of the Arts has received a $2,500.00 ArtsNow Leadership School Award donation from ArtsNow, Inc. The funds will be used for teachers and leaders to attend professional development conferences for arts integration. Expenses may include, but are not limited to conference/training registration, hotel, travel, meals, etc. 

     

    1. 7. Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) Innovative Teaching Mini Grant Awards to Aiken County Public School District – FY26 (Dr. Edwards) 

     

    The Aiken County Public School District has received $17,750.00 in mini-grant awards from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). After evaluating all grant applications submitted to SRNS, twenty-seven ACPSD teachers were selected to receive awards. These grants total $17,750.00. The funds are to be used by the awardee teachers to carry out the projects stated in their grant application.

     

     

    1. 8. Submission of the United States Department of Education Teacher and School Leader Grant Application – Aiken County Public School District – FY27 (Dr. Gamble) 

     

    The Division of Human Resources and Administration of the Aiken County Public School District is requesting to submit an application to the United States Department of Education Teacher and School Leader Grant. This is a three-year grant, and the minimum amount, if awarded, would be $100,000.00 per year. The proposed project will address workforce challenges, by strengthening recruitment in critical shortage areas, reducing teacher turnover, and boosting retention across diverse school settings, including Title I schools. If awarded, the grant funds will support program expenses such as training, coaching, and ongoing support. The schools supported by this grant would include Busbee Elementary, A.L. Corbett Middle, and Wagener Sally High School. 

     

    1. 9. GMP #1 for Redcliffe Elementary Secure Vestibule Construction (Dr. Yarborough) 

     

    Redcliffe Elementary has an unrestricted main entrance to the school. The plan is to construct a secure vestibule that includes access controls, a modernized, monitored, single point of entry, and double door system. The total budget needed is $271,297. This figure includes a $75,000 allowance. The project will be funded from a $236,000 security grant and 8% funds.  

     

    1. 10. Funding Flexibility for the Quarter and Year Ending June 30, 2026 (Mr. Traxler) 

     

    Under provisos 1.21, 1.24 and 1A.13 for Fiscal Year 2025 – 2026, all school districts and special schools of this State may transfer and expend funds "to ensure the delivery of academic and arts instruction to students.” Flexibility guidelines require that each district’s board and superintendent certify the specific flexibility actions taken. The certification must be in writing, signed by the board chairman and superintendent, and delivered electronically to the State Superintendent of Education. The SC Department of Education will subsequently forward the information to various legislators and legislative bodies. The certification must be posted on the district’s website. 

     

    1. 11. Request for Proposals for 2026 Annual Contract for Facilities Health and Safety Cleaning Program (Mr. Traxler) 

     

    Proposals for the 2026 Annual Contract for Facilities Health and Safety Cleaning Program were received on May 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.  Services are needed for District-level janitorial support with job descriptions, electronic information sharing, and chemicals/supplies. Services would be coordinated through the District’s Maintenance Department.    

     

    1. 12. Change Order Number One – Aiken County Public Schools – Football, Baseball, and Softball Field Lighting Replacement at South Aiken High School (Dr. Yarborough) 

     

    Change Order Number One reflects unused allowances for the Aiken County Public Schools - Football, Baseball, and Softball Field Lighting Replacement at South Aiken High School.
