  1. 1. Aiken County Public School District 2024-2025 Report Card Ratings Presentation (Dr. Edwards) 

 

  1. 2. Construction Status Reports for the New Aiken County Career and Technology Center Project (Dr. Yarborough) 

 

In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review. 

 

  1. 3. Conceptual Design Plans for Midland Valley High School Renovation and Addition Presentation (Dr. Yarborough) 

 

The administration has completed the scope of educational needs for the Midland Valley High School renovation and additionsThe architectural firm McMillan Pazdan Smith (MPS) has utilized this scope to produce schematic design plans and preliminary budget for the renovation and additionsThe estimated construction budget is $48,725,000. The overall budget includes design, advertising, FFE, and owner contingency for a total of $65,000,000. The scope of this work includes new additions and minimal renovation of the existing campus and use of 2024 1% Sales Tax funds.

B. INDIVIDUAL ITEMS 

 

  1. 1. Personnel Appointments (Dr. Minolfo) 

 

The administrative, certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department, and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.   

 

  1. 2. Proposed Modified Year-Round Student Calendar for 2027-2028 School Year, First Reading and Intersession Presentation (Mr. Jeffcoat and Dr. Edwards) 

 

The administration prepares a new calendar each year for Board approval. Policy ICA provides guidance in the development of the school calendar. 

 

 

C. CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group; individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken. 

 

  1. 1. Ratification of Expulsion (Dr. Murphy) 

 

The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from schoolAlthough the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it is solely empowered to take the final expulsion action. 

 

  1. 2. Out of District Transfer Requests – Transfers Out (Mrs. Meek) 

 

Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of studentsThe policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.” 

 

  1. 3. Change Order Number 1 – Aiken High School Football Bleachers and Press Box project (Dr. Yarborough) 

 

Change Order Number 1 reflects used allowances and shared savings for the Aiken High School Football Bleachers and Press Box project.

Change Order Number 1 reflects shared savings credit for the GMP #1 and unused allowances for the Mossy Creek Elementary exterior wall replacement project.
