  1. Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
 
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or Supervisor for each location.
 
  1. 2024-2025 Budget – Second/Final Reading (Mr. Traxler)
 
The Second/Final Reading of the Superintendent’s proposed budget is presented for Board discussion and consideration.
 
 
  1. CONSENT ITEMS:   The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section
 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school. Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
  1. Request to Admit Foreign Exchange Student (Dr. Minolfo)
 
School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of the exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfers Requests – Transfers Out 2024-2025 (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
  1. Local School Board Courses for 2024-2025 (Dr. Edwards)
 
The school board must approve locally designed courses annually.
 
  1. Cedar Creek Ladies Club Donation Greendale Elementary School– FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
Greendale Elementary School has received a $1,100.00 donation from the Cedar Creek Ladies Club. These funds support the Santa Books program that provides a book to every student at Christmas at Greendale Elementary. These funds will be used to purchase books for this program for the 2024-2025 school year.
 
 
 
 
  1. Parkers Kitchen Donation to Aiken County Public School District – FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
The Aiken County Public School District has received a $5,000.00 donation from Parker’s Kitchen. The funds are designated to support district initiatives as determined by the administration.
 
  1. Public Education Partners (PEP) of Aiken County Grant Awards to the Aiken County Public School District – FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
The Aiken County Public School District has received a $6,146.39 grant awards from the Public Education Partners (PEP) of Aiken County.
 
  1. Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) Innovative Teaching Mini Grant Awards to Aiken County Public School District (Dr. Edwards)
 
The Aiken County Public School District has received $23,250.00 in mini-grant awards from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS).
 
  1. Change Order Number 1 for the 2022 Painting at Freedmen Parenting, Hammond Hill, and Millbrook (Dr. Murphy)
 
Change Order Number 1 for the 2022 Painting at Freedmen Parenting, Hammond Hill, and Millbrook. Unused allowance for the project ……<$50,000.00>
 
  1. Items to be Declared Surplus and Method of Disposal (Mr. Traxler)
 
Miscellaneous school furnishings and equipment have been screened and determined to be obsolete and no longer of use to the District. Board approval is requested for the disposal of these items (ACPSD Procurement Code Article 15 Supply Management Sections 3810 and 3820).
