The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or Supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Adoption of the Following Policy:  Policy ADF District Wellness, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
  1. Adoption of the following administrative rule:  Administrative Rule IJOC-R School Volunteers (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Administration reviewed the Administrative Rule IJOC-R School Volunteers to as part of the evaluation of safety and security protocols in the District.
 
  1. Policy JLCD Assisting Students with Medicines, First Reading
Policy JLCDB Use of Lifesaving Medications, First Reading (Dr. Minolfo)
 
On May 16, 2023, Governor Henry McMaster signed into law the use of Lifesaving Medications in Schools.
 
 
 

B.CONSENT ITEMS:   The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section
 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school. Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
  1. South Carolina Department of Education Equitable Arts Advancement Program (EAAP) Grant Award – Aiken Elementary School – FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
Aiken Elementary School has been awarded a South Carolina Department of Education Equitable Arts Advancement Program (EAAP) Grant Award in the amount of $10,000.00. By Implementing the Theatre and Dance standards, the school aims to improve student achievement in the visual and performing arts.
 
 
 
 
 
  1. Request for Proposals – Kitchen Equipment Preventative Maintenance and Repairs (Mr. Traxler)
 
The District sought competitive sealed proposals for kitchen equipment preventative maintenance and repair. The awarded contractor is required to provide all tools, equipment, labor, materials, and parts required to repair and/or service kitchen equipment to keep them in prime operating condition with manufacturer’s recommendations.
 
 
  1. Construction Bids for the Aiken County Public Schools-Football Field Lighting Replacement at North Augusta, Silver Bluff, Midland Valley and Aiken High (Dr. Murphy)
 
Bids were received for the Aiken County Public Schools -Football Field Lighting Replacement at North Augusta, Silver Bluff, Midland Valley, and Aiken High on November 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and publicly opened.

In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
  1. Final Construction Status Report for the Highland Springs Middle School Project (Dr. Murphy)
 
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
 
  1. Construction Status Report for the Wagener-Salley High School New Construction Project (Dr. Murphy)
