A.  INDIVIDUAL ITEMS

 

 

The administrative, certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department, and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.

 

B.  CONSENT ITEMS:   The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 

 

Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.  The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”

 

 

Board Policy JFAB allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.  The policy stipulates that nonresident students transfer into the District “the parent/legal guardian must assume responsibility for transportation.  The Board will hold nonresident students to the behavioral and academic requirements set out in policy JFAA, admission of resident students.  The district may charge tuition to nonresident students seeking to enroll in district schools.” 

 

 

School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County.

 

 

South Carolina Proviso 1A.72 (High-Intensity Tutoring) authorized the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) to provide funds to school districts and community partners to pilot academic support programs providing high-dosage, low ratio tutoring to students in mathematics and reading by compensated tutors.  Aiken County Public School District (ACPSD) was chosen to participate in the pilot during the 2024-2025 school year.

 

 

Contract Construction received bids to relocate the electrical and gas services for the North Augusta Middle School project.  The relocation budget is $336,470.00, which sets the Site GMP #1 at the same amount. This cost does not increase the overall project budget of $52,000,000.  Relocating utilities early is typically more cost-effective than working around active lines or performing emergency moves later in the project.  Early relocation is necessary to prevent interference with foundation work, site grading, underground drainage, and utility trenching.

 

 

Proposals for the FY 2026 Annual Contract for K-12 Educational Artificial Intelligence Platform for Aiken County Public Schools were received on June 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.Programs are needed throughout the district and will be coordinated through the District’s Instructional Services Division.There were nine vendors who submitted proposals as part of this RFP. After evaluating the proposals, the Selection Committee believes the District would be best served by selecting three companies: Magic School, Khan Academy, and Brisk Labs Corp.

 

These companies will be utilized in different capacities as needed throughout the District.

 

C.  INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: The following items are for information only and do not require Board Action.

 

 

The School Board has requested a review of Policy IKA as it pertains to the recognition of valedictorian and salutatorian and graduation honors.

 

 

The School Board approved the original Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Utilization Plan, in accordance with the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code, at is July 18, 2023, meeting.That plan requires a semi-annual reporting in January and July. The plan must be updated annually for any changes no later than July 30.

 

 

The Division of Finance submits monthly financials for Board review, consideration, and acceptance.

 

 

The District Procurement Code requires annual reporting of the purchases made under the sole source and emergency provisions of the code.
