- Legislative Update (Mr. Liner)
- Facilities Construction Department Quarterly Change Order Notification (Dr. Foster)
Policy FGG sets the limit of approval for construction change orders by the Superintendent or designee up to $15,000.00. The policy requires a summary of such change orders to be presented to the Board at least once a quarter for notification.
3. Construction Status Reports for the Aiken High School Phase 2B Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, LS3P Associates LTD., and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
4. Construction Status Reports for the North Augusta High School 2B Addition Project (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
5. Construction Status Reports for the New Aiken County Adult Education Center (Midland Valley Adult Education) Project. (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillian Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
6. Construction Status Report for the Midland Valley High Football Stadium Project. (Dr. Foster)
In an effort to keep the Board current on the status and budget of this school construction project, the Architects for this project, McMillian Pazdan Smith Architecture and the Administration prepare a monthly status report for the Board’s review.
7. Early Learning Initiatives and Partnerships (Mrs. Glover)
- CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group. Individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
1. Request for Approval for Home Instruction (Dr. Foster)
The School Board according to the Code of laws for South Carolina, Section 59-65-40, is authorized to approve home schooling for parents not opting for approval by the South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools. The program has to meet certain standards as outlined in the bill, Policy IEK and IEK-R.
2. Utilities Installation Easement for Claiborne, LLC (Dr. Foster)
As part of the routine site work and infrastructure for any building, this utility sanitary sewer easement located on Midland Valley High property east side as noted on the attached sketch. Claiborne LLC has asked for an easement agreement in order to document both their right to make the installation, as well as the location there of.

1. Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Personnel Services Department and interviewed and approved by the Principals and Executive Directors.
2. Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mr. Laurence)
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
