A.INDIVIDUAL ITEMS

 
  1. Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
 
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Update Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan (Mrs. Hart)
 
The purpose of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan is to eliminate or minimize employee occupational exposure to blood or certain other body fluids, and to comply with the OSHA Blood borne Pathogens Standard, 1910, 1030.The school district is required to determine which employees may be at greatest risk to incur occupational exposure to blood or other body fluids and to make available the Hepatitis B vaccine and vaccination series to all employees who have occupational exposure, and post exposure follow-up when an exposure incident occurs.
 
  1. Proposed Incentive for Teacher Retention (Mrs. Hart)
 
Our District like many others, continues to deal with a shortage of teachers.That shortage places a greater burden on existing staff.The Administration is seeking an incentive to assist in the retention of these dedicated teachers.
 
  1. Revision of the following policy:  Policy IJK Supplementary Material Selection and Adoption, First Reading (Dr. Edwards & Dr. Minolfo)
 
Policy IJK Supplementary Materials Selection and Adoption provides guidance for supplemental educational materials that support the educational programs.
 
  1. Demographic Assessment & Rezoning Scenarios (Dr. Murphy)
 
During the 2022 school year Aiken County Public Schools engaged in an endeavor to identify population trends throughout the district in an effort to forecast facilities needs and better serve our students and families.As a result of the endeavor, ACPSD contracted with MGT Consulting to provide this data.This study also provides a comprehensive look at our current facilities and how adequately they serve our students.Lastly, the study will offer criterion referenced scenarios of how to create an attendance zone for the newly constructed Highland Springs Middle School.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

B.CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School Board according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school.Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
 
  1. Midland Valley Elementary School Library Fund of Central Carolina Community Foundation Donation to Midland Valley Area Elementary Schools – FY23 (Dr. Edwards)
 
The Midland Valley Elementary School Library Fund of Central Carolina Community Foundation has donated $1,000.00 to each of the Midland Valley Area Elementary Schools for a total donation of $6,000.00. Funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.
 
 
  1. Anonymous Donation to North Augusta High School – FY23 (Dr. Edwards)
 
North Augusta High School was given a donation of $2,000.00 from an anonymous donor.The funds from this donation will be used toward bus and travel expenses for the North Augusta High School Concert Choir.
 
 
  1. Smart Safes of North Augusta Donation to North Augusta High School – FY23(Dr. Edwards)
 
North Augusta High School (NAHS) was given a $3,000.00 donation from Smart Safes of North Augusta.The funds from this donation will be used by the NAHS Clay Target Team at the NWTF Palmetto range to purchase practices rounds and shotgun shells for practice, as well as shooting vests for use on the range at the Palmetto complex.
 
  1. Approval to utilize GovDeals Online Government Surplus Auction Services as a method of disposal for items declared to be surplus (Mr. Traxler)
 
The Procurement Department formally solicited services for a Professional Auctioneer multiple times last year and received zero (0) responses from auctioneer service providers.Due to the lack of responses, the Procurement Department is seeking to utilize GovDeals.com an online auction service platform to dispose of surplus items.
