  1. Final Contract Documents for the Belvedere Elementary School Addition & Renovations Project (Dr. Foster)

The architects, McMillan, Pazdan, Smith Architecture for this project have completed the final working drawings for construction of the Belvedere Elementary School project and are prepared to present these final plans and construction budget under separate cover to the Board for approval.
 
  1. Design Development Drawings/Budget for the Hammond Hill Elementary Addition & Renovation Project (Dr.  Foster)

The administration in conjunction with the Architect has completed the Design Development Plans and Budget for the Hammond Hill Elementary Addition & Renovations Project and will present the proposed plans and budget to the Aiken County School Board for approval.Phase I design includes a new 2 story classroom addition with alternate add of a new kitchen/cafeteria and computer lab.The overall budget is $18,685,345.00 which has a 7% owner contingency.The additional budget over original budget of $15 million is $3,685,345.00 which will come from the 8% Five Year Facilities Improvement Contingency.An updated Design Development estimate and project budget summary from Aiken Cost Consultants will be provided by Cheatham Fletcher Scott Architects, P.C< at the board meeting.
 
 
 
 
 
  1. Walther Farms, LLC Donation to Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)

Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School was given a $1,026.13 donation from Walther Farms, LLC.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase new basketball goals and posts for the playground.
 
  1. Submission of the Distinguished Arts Program (DAP) 2020-21 Arts Curricular Innovation Grant (ACIG) Application by Aiken Elementary School – FY21

Aiken Elementary School would like to submit an application to the SC State Department of Education for the Distinguished Arts Programs (DAP) Arts Curricular Innovation Grant (ACIG) in the amount of $18,000.00.This grant will assist in developing and implementing arts initiatives that support quality arts education programs and significantly improve student achievement in the arts.Distinguished Arts Program (DAP) Grants provide funds for one-year projects.It awarded, grant funds will be used to fund artist-in-residencies, professional development, and instructional supplies and equipment.
 
  1. William W. Carmichael Donation to Byrd Elementary School Library – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)

Byrd Elementary School Library was given a $2,000.00 donation from William W. Carmichael.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.
 
 
  1. William W. Carmichael Donation to Warrenville Elementary School Library – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)

Warrenville Elementary School Library was given a $2,000.00 donation from William W. Carmichael.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.
 
  1. William W. Carmichael Donation to Clearwater Elementary School Library – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)

Clearwater Elementary School Library was given a $2,000.00 donation from William W. Carmichael.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.
 
  1. William W. Carmichael Donation to Gloverville Elementary School Library – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)

Gloverville Elementary School Library was given a $2,000.00 donation from William W. Carmichael.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.

Graniteville Elementary School Library was given a $2,000.00 donation from William W. Carmichael.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.

Jefferson Elementary School Library was given a $2,000.00 donation from William W, Carmichael.The funds from this donation will be used to purchase library books.
 
  1. Anonymous Donation to Wagener-Salley High School – FY20 (Mrs. Glover)

Wagener-Salley High School was given a donation of $2,000.00 from an anonymous donor.The funds from this donation will be used to sponsor three students to participate in their senior trip.

The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mr. Laurence)

Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
