The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 
 

B.CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
  1. Request for Approval for Home Instruction (Dr. Murphy)
 
The School Board according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina, Section 59-65-40, is authorized to approve home schooling for parents not opting for approval by the South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools.The program has to meet certain standards as outlined in the bill, Policy IEK and IEK-R.
 
  1. Request to Admit Foreign Exchange Student (Dr. Minolfo)
 
School Board Policy JFABB establishes guidelines for the admission of the exchange students to the high schools in the School District of Aiken County.
 
  1. American Academy of Pediatrics Grant Award to A.L. Corbett Middle School (Dr. Edwards)
 
A.L. Corbett Middle School has received $2,000.00 from the American Academy of Pediatrics for the Youth Cessation Training for School Health Professionals: Implementation Grant Award.These funds will be used to purchase educational materials and supplies for students and parents and student incentive items to help prevent youth tobacco and vape use.
 
  1. Anonymous Donation to School Food Services for Outstanding Student Food Service Accounts-FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
School Food Service has received a $1,104.23 donation from an anonymous donor to be applied to student food service accounts for students with greatest need at eight designated elementary schools and five middle schools and two high schools.
 
 
 
 
 
 
  1. SC Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) Donation to East Aiken School of the Arts – FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
The SC Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) has donated $1,500.00 to East Aiken School of the Arts.Funds will be used for the purchased services of a guest speaker and items needed for a schoolwide math day.
 
 
  1. SC Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) Donation to Millbrook Elementary School – FY24 (Dr. Edwards)
 
The SC Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM) has donated $1,136.00 to Millbrook Elementary School.Funds will be used for classroom materials and supplies and for conference/travel expenses.
