A.INDIVIDUAL ITEMS

 
  1. Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
 
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 

B.CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school.Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from others, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Dr. Minoflo)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
 
  1. Duke Power Grant Award -Midland Valley High School FFA – FY23 (Dr. Edwards)
 
Midland Valley High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) program has received a grant award from Duke Power in the amount of $2,061.85 through the SC Association of FFA.The funds will be used to cover travel & hotel expenses for students to attend the National Conference.
 
  1. Duke Power Grant Award -Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle/High School FFA – FY23 (Dr. Edwards)
 
Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle/High School Futures Farmers of America (FFA) program has received a grant award from Duke Power in the amount of $2061,85 through the SC Association of FFA.The funds will be used to purchase instructional materials and supplies and student field trips.
