A.INDIVIDUAL ITEMS

 
  1. Personnel Appointments (Mrs. Hart)
 
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed, and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 
 

B.CONSENT ITEMS:  The following items will be voted on as a group, individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.

 
  1. Ratification of Expulsions (Mr. Laurence)
 
The School Board, according to the Code of Laws for South Carolina Section 59-63-240, is authorized to expel students from school.Although the Board may receive recommendations for expulsion from other, it solely is empowered to take the final expulsion action.
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfer Requests – Transfers Out (Dr. Minolfo)
 
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
 
  1. The School Garden and Education Assistance Program Grant Award to A.L. Corbett Middle School – FY22 (Mrs. Glover)
 
A.L. Corbett Middle School has been awarded the School Garden and Education Assistance Program Grant, sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and administered by Clemson Extension’s School Gardening for SC Educators.The goal of the program is to introduce children to hands-on agriculture and nutrition education as well as encourage public schools to use locally grown South Carolina produce in their school menus.
 
  1. Request for Proposals for 2022 Annual Contract for Districtwide Fencing Installation Projects (Dr. Murphy)
 
Request for Proposals for 2022 Districtwide Fencing Installation Projects were received on February 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. and publicly opened.Fencing needs will be determined by the Construction Facilities Department.After evaluating the proposals received, the Selection Committee believes the District would be best served if both companies were selected.Maner Builders Supply Co. ranked 1sr as most responsible and responsive and Sitec Construction ranked 2nd.The two (2) companies will be used in different capacities as an Indefinite Delivery Contract annual basis.
