  1. Submission of the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Grant – FY21 (Mr. Traxler)

The USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program provides all children in participating schools with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetable throughout the school day.It is an effective and creative way of introducing fresh fruits and vegetable as healthy snack options.The FFVP also encourages the education of families and partnerships with members of the community as an overall way of increasing the health and wellness of both students and those in the community in which they live.The School Food Service Department is requesting to submit the $325,900.00 grant application for USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program on behalf of the following schools:

  1. School Food Service Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant Award to Wagener-Salley High School – FY21 (Mr. Traxler)
 
Wagener-Salley High School was awarded $3,768.00 from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant.This is a two-part grant.The Healthy Eating part of the award is focused on reducing food waste and $2,768.00 will be used to purchase bins, signage and items for composting.The Physical Activity part of the award is to focus on walking activities and $1,000.00 will used to create a walking club at the school.
 
  1. School Food Services Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant Award to Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle School – FY21 (Mr. Traxler)

Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle School was awarded $3,720.00 from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant.This is a two-part grant.The Healthy Eating part of the award is focused on reducing food waste and $2,720.00 will be used to purchase bins, signage and items for composting.The Physical Activity part of the award is to focus on walking activities and $1,000.00 will be used to create a walking club at the school.
 
  1. School Food Services Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant Award to A.L. Corbett Middle School – FY21 (Mr. Traxler)

A.L. Corbett Middle School was awarded $3,710.00 from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant.This is a two-part grant. The Healthy Eating part of the award is focused on reducing food waste and $2,710.00 will be used to purchase bins, signage and items for composting.The Physical Activity part of the award is to focus on walking activities and $1,000.00 will be used to create a walking club at the school.

New Ellenton STEAM Middle School was awarded $3,764.00 from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant.This is a two-part grant.The Healthy Eating part of the award is focused on reducing food waste and $2,764.00 will be used to purchase bins, signage and items for composting.The Physical Activity part of the award is to focus on walking activities and $1,000.00 will be used to create a walking club at the school.
 
  1. School Food Services Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant Award to Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary School – FY21 (Mr. Traxler)
 
Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary School was awarded $3,286.00 from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant.This is a two-part grant.The Healthy Eating part of the award is focused on reducing food waste and $2,826.00 will be used to purchase bins, signage and items for composting.The Physical Activity part of the award is to focus on walking activities and $1,000.00 will be used to create a walking club at the school.
 
  1. School Food Services Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant Award to LBC Middle School – FY21 (Mr. Traxler)
 
Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle School was awarded $3,993.00 from the Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant.This is a two-part grant.The Healthy Eating part of the award is focused on reducing food waste and $2,993.00 will be used to purchase bins, signage and items for composting.The Physical Activity part of the award is to focus on walking activities and $1,000.00 will be used to create a walking club at the school.

The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Human Resources Department and interviewed and/or approved by the Principal or supervisor for each location.
 
  1. Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mrs. Hart)

Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students.The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
