2. Lloyd-Kennedy Charter School and Aiken Performing Arts Academy
Annual Reports (Dr. Alford)
- CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group. Individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
1. Donation from William W. Carmichael to LBC Middle School – FY18 (Dr. Washington)
LBC Middle School has been given a $5,000 donation from William W. Carmichael. The funds from this donation will be used to purchase software and books for the Media Center.
2. 2018 Installation of Flooring at Midland Valley High (Dr. Foster)
Bids were received on November 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. and publicly opened for the 2018 Installation of Flooring at Midland Valley High. There were 4 bidders for this project with the lowest responsible and responsive bidder bring Gleaton Floor Covering, Inc. of Sumter, SC; Base Bid C ($299,988.00) for Midland Valley High. The Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan for 2018-2019 has the funds needed to complete this project. Total contract amount is $299,988.00.
3. 2018 Painting of A.L. Corbett Middle-Busbee Elementary (Dr. Foster)
Bids were received on November 8, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. and publicly opened for the 2018 Painting of A.L. Corbett Middle/Busbee Elementary. There were 4 bidders for this project with the lowest responsible and responsive bidder bring S&A Enterprises, Inc. of Columbia, SC: Base Bid A ($140,000.00) for A.L. Corbett Middle/Busbee Elementary. The Five-Year Facility Improvement Plan for 2018-2019 has the funds needed to complete this project. Total contract is in the amount of $140,000.00.

1. Personnel Appointments (Ms. Smalls)
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Personnel Services Department and interviewed and approved by the Principals and Executive Directors.
2. Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Mr. Laurence)
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
