A. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: The following items are for information only and do not require Board action.
1. Discussion on Education Capital Sales and Use Tax (Mr. Burkhalter and Mr. Traxler)

B. CONSENT ITEMS: The following items will be voted on as a group. Individual items may be discussed prior to a vote being taken.
1. Out-of-District Transfer Requests (Dr. Stowe)
Board Policy JFABC allows the Aiken County Board of Education to arrange with other school districts for the interchange of students. The policy stipulates that when students transfer out of the District, “the School District of Aiken County shall assume no responsibility for tuition to the receiving district.”
2. Title III Allocations for English Language Acquisitions, FY15 (Mr. Laurence)
The Aiken County Public School District has received $115,640 from the State Department of Education through the U.S. Department of Education’s No Child Left Behind Act to supplement its Title III English Language Acquisition Program. The purpose of this English Language Acquisition Program is to assist state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) in providing supplementary educational services and offsetting costs for English as a second language students enrolled in elementary and secondary schools.
3. Special Education Related Services Contract (Mr. Laurence)
The Department of Special Education routinely contracts with related service providers when unable to hire Aiken County Public Schools District personnel. The contracts include, but are not limited to: Transportation, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psycho-educational Testing, Applied Behavior Therapy, Orientation and Mobility for the Visually Impaired, Educational Interpreters, Consultation services, and Medicaid billing.
Periodically during the fiscal year, the Division of Fiscal Services submits adjustments to the approved budget as may be required in the conduct of operations.
5. Budget Adjustment #5; Funds #1 and #5 (FY14) (Mr. Traxler)
Periodically during the fiscal year, the Division of Fiscal Services submits adjustments to the approved budget as may be required in the conduct of operations.
The certified and classified personnel presented have been screened by the Personnel Services Department and interviewed and approved by the Principal and the Academic Officers.
